Making empty threats
"Keep pushing me," he hissed, "and I’ll disappear. You’ll never see me again."
“Oh, yea? Well, then I’ll start spending all your savings on extravagant vacations,” she retorted.
“Fine,” he replied, “then I’ll donate all your designer clothes to charity.”
“And I’ll sign you up for a marathon. You always said you needed more exercise,” she countered.
"Well, if that’s the case," he said, "then I’ll finally start cooking those recipes you love.”
"And I'll organize every single cupboard in the house,” she declared.
“And I’ll enroll us in swimming lessons. You always wanted to learn,” he added.
She looked at him. "In that case, I will support you until the end of our days."
He held her gaze. "And I will be by your side forever and ever."
