Handing out credit

“What’s he giving away?” someone asked, eyeing the growing crowd.

“Credit,” another replied.

Ahead, someone grumbled, “He added my name last time, but I wasn’t mentioned in the meeting. This time, I’ll make sure I’m right at the top.”

The leader at the front called out, “Join the ranks of the recognized! Your contribution is invaluable!”

“Here you go,” the leader said, adding another name to the list. “You’re officially thanked for your contribution.”
