Getting used to progress
"Can you believe they're making us work three days a week now? I read somewhere that in the old days, people used to work four, even five days straight!" she exclaimed, shaking her head in disbelief as she sipped her coffee.
"Really? Five days? That sounds like a myth. Next, you'll tell me they didn't have holo-meetings and actually had to commute to work!" he laughed, almost spilling his own drink.
"No, seriously. And they had these things called 'offices' where everyone would gather to work together. And they had to be in the same room, breathing the same air, to have a meeting." she continued, wide-eyed.
He nodded solemnly. "It's barbaric. Thank goodness we've evolved. Now, if only they'd cut us down to two days a week. That would be true progress."
