Expecting the unexpected

“Imagine, just for a second, that beans aren’t the post-apocalyptic currency of choice. What then?”

“Impossible. What do you propose?”

“Like, I don’t know, toilet paper.”

“Toilet paper? That’s the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard. Who would value toilet paper over beans in a world gone mad?”

“Well, think about it. Comfort and hygiene might become luxuries. Hence, toilet paper becomes gold.”

“But I’ve invested everything in beans. My whole garage is full of them. What am I going to do with all those beans if people want toilet paper?”
